Widgets for the iOS 16 lock screen are now available for Snapchat thanks to the latest app update

The popular photo-sharing app Snapchat

is the most recent app to bring iOS 16 Lock Screen widgets to iPhone users. The introduction of the capability to personalise one’s lock screen with widgets is one of the significant new features introduced by Apple with the release of iOS 16. A large number of companies have put in the effort to ensure that their apps are compatible with iOS 16, and now Snapchat can be added to that list.

Today, the corporation made the announcement that it will be releasing new versions of its software

The company announced today that it will be updating its app to be compatible with iOS 16 and will also add widgets for the Lock Screen. There are two different Snapchat Lock Screen Widgets from which you can select the one that best suits your needs. The first option for a widget to display on the Lock Screen is a tiny square that, when tapped, launches the Snapchat camera. The second choice is a larger rectangle that invites a discussion with a friend or a group of people. Along with the other emojis that are displayed next to that particular chat in the app, the widget will also show your streak with this friend.

According to a statement made by the company in a blog post, “Our new Lock Screen Widgets keep conversations with your best friend saved right to your lock screen so you can start chats with one tap.” “When you want to start snapping, you can save yourself the scrolling by using this new tool. This will keep visual conversations with the Snapchat Camera right where you left them—right at your fingertips.”

Simply tap and hold on the screen to add the new widgets to your lock screen

You can add the new widgets to your lock screen by tapping and holding on it until the Edit menu appears, and then choosing the “Customize” button from the menu that appears. When you are in this editing mode, you can add or remove widgets by tapping the row where you want them to appear. After that, you will need to navigate through the available options within the app and select Snapchat. After that, you can swipe in any direction to see all of the available widgets, and then choose the one that you want to add. After making your selection, you will need to dismiss the Add Widgets panel and then select Done to save your modifications.

According to the company, the new widgets will be made available to users either immediately or very soon. It is recommended that you keep an eye out for a new app update if you do not currently have access to the newly released widgets.

There are a lot of different apps, including Snapchat, that are competing with one another to be on your lock screen. Widgets called “Birthdays at a Glance” and “Top Updates” have been made available to iPhone users by Facebook as of earlier this week. In addition, Google has pledged to make available in the following weeks iOS 16 Lock Screen widgets for essential apps such as Search, Chrome, Gmail, Maps, and others.

The launch of Snapchat for Web, the company’s desktop application, coincided with the announcement of its new Lock Screen Widgets. Snapchat for Web will now be accessible to users in every region of the world. You can make voice and video calls, as well as send and receive messages and snaps, when you use Snapchat for Web. Snap’s primary focus for the time being is on bringing the app’s core features to the web, and the company plans to build out the experience from that point forward. In the future, the company intends to add other features from the mobile app to Snapchat for the Web. These features will include the ability to view stories and memories.
