For several organisations around the globe, Microsoft Teams has been the go-to app. Teams are not as easy to use in certain respects as Zoom. That shouldn’t take anything away from the host of outstanding professional-grade features it provides, however.
Some of these little gifts are a bit harder to access, and we’re going to take a look at one such hidden gem today. So, let’s see how you could send an email right from a private conversation on Microsoft Teams without further ado.
Benefits of sending an email directly from a chat
Since Microsoft Teams is about productivity, it would be useful for many users of the service to be able to send an email via a conversation. Microsoft Teams are also used for the negotiation of better deals or other iron-clad conversations. Conducting the whole thing via chats is an option, of course, but if an official email thread is used, many feel more relaxed. With this feature, with just a single click, you can hop into your favorite email client.
In addition, all email clients give you the option to send a Carbon Copy (CC) or Blind Carbon Copy (BCC) to the people who matter, if you decide to bring more members of your company into the loop. Of course, the choice is not present in the chat window and sending a screenshot is never an option, especially in official negotiations.
How to send an email from a Microsoft Teams conversation
Let’s see how you can send an email right from a conversation now that you know how useful it can be.
On PC
Second, open the application for Microsoft Teams on your PC and log in with your username and password. Now, go to the ‘Talk’ tab and start a conversation. In the options area at the bottom of the screen, the option to send an email is not covered. It won’t be found under any other banner or menu, either.
If you take your mouse pointer, however, and hover it over your contact’s profile picture thumbnail. Click on the letter (mail) icon when a fleeting window opens.
A dialog pops up and asks you to choose the mailing client of your choosing. To proceed and finish sending the mail, pick one.
On Android and iPhone
The mobile client of Microsoft Teams might not always be as effective as the desktop variant, but it can sure give it a run for its cash in certain fields. As you may have already guessed, you may also send an email from the mobile client. Next, open the app and use your credentials to log in.
Now, go to the ‘Talk’ tab and open up your favorite conversation.
Then, tap on the name of the contact, you’ll be redirected to the basic information page.
Their email is usually the first thing that’s on there. Click on it.
Finally, you’ll get the option to pick your favorite email app to finish the task.
That’s it!
