Brave Browser is one of the best privacy-focused browsers currently available. On multiple platforms, the Chromium-based web browser is available. And it has a lot of useful features that other browsers won’t notice. On the new tab screen, the browser displays background photos. The members of the Brave group have sent these photos. And the photos are chosen by the design team for the browser. There are 16 background images at present and a new Supported Images feature has been added by the developers.
Although the update for sponsored photos has not yet arrived on Android. However, if you’re not a big fan of background photos, then you can turn them off. This illustrates that the team behind the browser really cares about the choice of the user.
Turning off the option for background images will not interfere with any other features. You will, therefore, be able to use the browser as usual. In addition, when it arrives on Android, disabling the background images option in the Brave Browser will also turn off supported images. Nevertheless, in the Brave Browser on Android, follow the steps below to switch off background images.
Steps to turn off background images in Brave Browser
It is worth remembering that you will also be able to turn it off separately once the supported photos update arrives for Brave Browser on Android. Nonetheless, here’s how to absolutely turn off the Brave Browser background pictures.
- Launch Brave Browser on your Android phone.
- Tap on the 3-dots icon located in the bottom bar.
- Now tap on Settings and scroll to the Display category.
- Under Display tap on New Tab Page.
- You should be able to see an option labeled Show Background Images.
- Toggle off this option by tapping on the label or on the toggle switch.
For the update to take effect, you will have to relaunch Brave Browser. To re-open the browser window, simply tap on Relaunch Now. Alternatively, to continue your browsing session and restart the program later, tap on Later. After removing the Brave Window background photos, you can no longer see the photos on the new tab list. Depending on the browser’s theme, you’ll just see a dark or light backdrop instead of the pictures.
You can do so by following the same steps above if you want to turn on the background images in the future. However, instead of turning the function off, just turn it on and restart the program. In the Brave Window, the background photos spin around automatically. Therefore, you can not set just one image to be used in the new tab page context.
